Eco Scandic - Refrigerant lifecycle solutions
Eco Scandic’s facilities and technology opens a new door for refrigerant consumers in Northern Europe. By recovering and reclaiming refrigerants we offer an inexpensive, as well as environmentally friendly solution for procuring and disposing refrigerants. We are constantly developing our expertise and our company’s environmental management methods. The first distillation column in the Nordic countries for the rectification of refrigerants is currently under development.
Our Story
In the summer of 2015, Eco Scandic’s current CEO, Georg Bitarichvili, received a call from a family friend, Andrei Abrosimov (current Technical Director), who shared his idea of establishing the Nordic region’s first recycling facility for F-gases. Georg’s friend Niklas Rinne, now the current Chief Development Officer and a member of FREA’s board, was studying at Aalto University for a diploma in energy engineering at that time. He became interested in the idea and wrote his thesis around the newly founded company.
After a long and diverse career in handling hazardous chemicals and with a diploma in chemical engineering, Andrei, along with two enthusiastic and knowledgeable youths, founded Eco Scandic. Today, seven years later, the company has 11 employees and operates in Helsinki and Stockholm.
Permits
We have been granted Environmental permit together with End-of-Waste license. We are ISO9001 certified and our EMS is ISO 14001:2015 and EMAS (the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) certified. Our EMAS registration number is FI-000061.
We are registered in Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) and we are a active member of Finnish Refrigeration Enterprises Association (FREA). Please find more information about our permits on Regional State Administrative Agency’s website.
